The Moorgate tube crash
Anyone old enough to remember this? On this day 1975 a terrible tragedy occurred.

45 people died

Still not clear what happened.

I recall that 2 people were trapped & badly injured for some time, before they could reach them & get them out. It was a horrific incident!

No of course not Bru but you'd be surprised at the effect having an assault rifle pointed at you has.

When the City had it's 'ring of steel' against the IRA (although virtually everyone I ever saw stopped and searched was black - I never realised the IRA had so many black people involved) I was stopped going across London Bridge on my motorbike by an armed cordon.

'Why have I been stopped officer?' I said.

He then put the barrel of the gun inside my crash helmet and against my cheek and said 'anything we fucking want to stop you for'.

Shortly after that one of the silly cunts shot himself in the leg on the firing range at Liverpool St police station which made me laugh and laugh.

On the whole though I try and avoid the power-mad cunts, hence me skulking off the balcony.

Probably the Met's old storm troopers in the SPG...?

Re: The Moorgate tube crash
My pal has a flat in Old Street that directly overlooks Artillery fields which was used as a makeshift morgue after 7/7. They erected big white tents which armed police patrolled around.

I went out onto his balcony (9 floors up) and a policeman motioned me to go back inside. I thought 'bollocks to that, how does he know that I don't own this million quid flat and I just want to use my balcony'?

My stance changed a bit I must admit when he carefully pointed his assault rifle at me and I shuffled back inside.

Re: The Moorgate tube crash
After 7/7 I needed to go to Kings Cross so I nipped in round the Camley St entrance, just as a CSI copper emerged from underground in a boiler suit and shoulder-length oxblood gloves.

It was a boiling hot summer's day and there were news reports that rats had started 'interfering with the crime scene'.

So you've got dead, burnt people in an enclosed space, arc lights, it's boiling hot, probably stinking and rats are starting to eat the bodies.

All that was clear in the poor fucker's face as he kind of stared straight through me. First and only time I've ever felt sorry for a copper.

As an afterthought, I don't believe anyone who would be committing suicide would do so when they also knew that loads of others would die at their hands.

A fair few pilots have done just that though.

So what was that German Wings pilot up to, when he crashed his plane, after locking the co pilot and other crew out of the flight deck?

I’m ignorant of all things raily but why is driving a steam train better than driving a non steam one?

(mild swearing warning)

Driving a steam train back in the day on cross country routes must have been an amazing job. If I had my time again I would have loved to work for ScotRail driving in the Highlands. For the scenery, not the trains of course. 🤣
